Synthesis of cobalt aluminate spinel by sol-gel process: Investigation of starting reagents and precursors obtained after pyrolysis

In this study, cobalt aluminate was prepared by a sol-gel method. XRD and FTIR analyses of the precursors obtained at 300 °C for 12 h revealed that type complexing agent used in synthesis affects pyrolysis step. An amorphous phase using citric acid as agent. A beginning crystallization observed agents such polyacrylic glycine. The structural investigation starting reagents lines exhibit characteristics Co3O4 derived from nitrate. crystallinity samples increased with increase annealing temperature, no effect change appearance (331) reflection heat-treated powders characteristic blue spinel compound.
